EDIT [9-27-07]: I've been getting a lot of odd brands of vitriol in the comments section on this comic, so I thought I'd add a few words in the title picture's author's comments to clear up a few things...

1) No, I don't hate Zuko. He's one of my favorite characters, and if I could, I would much rather give him a pat on the head and an all-expenses-paid trip to Tahiti, to get rid of some of that stress, than kill him. Yes, I think he's a hopeless emo moron most of the time, but for me, that's part of his charm.

2) No, I don't hate Zuko/Katara. In fact, I'm quite fond of it. Please see some of my other work in my gallery if you doubt the veracity of that statement. It's not the be-all and end-all of Avatar for me, but then, I try not to let my love for a pairing outstrip my love for the show that birthed it (though I don't always succeed, being only human).

So if I don't hate Zuko or Zuko/Katara, then why am I drawing this comic? Because the crossover fit too perfectly to pass up, and because it's fun to draw, and because Katara looks great with a sword. I think it's got a little appeal for everybody. Zutara haters, plz enjoy yourselves as Katara roars and rampages and exacts bloody satisfaction. Zutara undecideds and those who could care less about shipping, you are very welcome here, because this comic isn't really shipping-focused to begin with! And Zutara lovers, remember--it's Zuko's baby. ;D

There, now that that's taken care of, let's all play nice, sink the silly shipping wars, remember we're all fans together, and enjoy the show and the comic! Tobu Ishi sez: "Be excellent to one another!"

EDIT [12/18/07]: Thanks to the Western Air Temple, this series has suddenly become nigh-prophetic. Apparently I have the gift? Let's hope in canon at least she doesn't succeed...
